Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. And even though you don’t see Him now, you trust Him and are filled with a joy that is glorious beyond words,
If we say we have fellowship with Him and keep walking in the darkness, we are lying and do not practice the truth.
If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has made his eyes blind.
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
The one who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness.
But if someone has material possessions and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is made perfect in us.
