(let the wise listen and increase learning and the discerning obtain wise counsel)


Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still. Teach a righteous man and he will increase in learning.


That is to say, we would be encouraged together by one another’s faithfulness—both yours and mine.


However, in Messiah’s community I would rather speak five words with my mind, so I may also instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.


But one who prophesies speaks to people for building up, urging on, and uplifting.


But if something is revealed to another sitting nearby, let the first one become silent.


The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,


If they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home—for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak out in the community.


He encourages us in every trouble, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any trouble, through the very encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.


I have sent him to you for this very reason, so you may know how we are and he may encourage your hearts.


My purpose is that their hearts, joined together in love, may be encouraged. May they have all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, leading to a true knowledge of the mystery of God—that is, Messiah.


Therefore encourage one another with these words.

We urge you, brothers and sisters, correct the unruly, comfort the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
