Then David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron, and more sons and daughters were born to David.


So he had 700 wives as princesses and 300 concubines—and his women led his heart astray.


Then David knew that Adonai had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel.


These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,


Moreover, of all my sons—for Adonai has given me many sons—He has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Adonai over Israel.


Live joyously with the wife whom you love all the days of your fleeting life that He has given you under the sun during all your fleeting days—for this is your portion in life and in your toil that you labor under the sun.
