The young man informing him answered, “I happened by chance to be on Mount Gilboa, and look, Saul was leaning on his spear, while the chariots and the horsemen were closing in on him.
So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the open square of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them on the day that the Philistines killed Saul in Gilboa.
The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bocru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
At that time, the Philistines gathered their armed forces to fight against Israel. Achish said to David, “You surely know that you and your men must march out with me in the army.”
So the Philistines mustered and came and camped in Shunem; and Saul gathered all Israel together and they camped at Gilboa.
