When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why is your teacher eating with tax collectors and sinners?”


As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,” so Matthew rose and followed him.


We know that God does not listen to sinners, but he does listen to anyone who is devout and does his will.
