On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”


When evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation (that is, the day before the Sabbath),


It was about the sixth hour on the day of Preparation for the Passover, and he said to the Jews, “Behold, your king!”


Since it was the day of Preparation (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate to have the men's legs broken and their bodies taken away, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath.


Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
