I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”


In the house Jesus' disciples asked him again about the same matter.


“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.


So then, she will be called an adulteress if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and is not committing adultery if she is joined to another man.


The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.


Marriage must be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed must be kept pure, but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
