For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.


For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me, it gave witness unto me:


The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: And I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.


If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, Or that the needy had no covering;


If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, Because I saw my help in the gate:


The lambs are for thy clothing, And the goats are the price of the field:


Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?


neither hath wronged any, hath not taken aught to pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,


Thus hath the LORD of hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgement, and shew mercy and compassion every man to his brother:


thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.
