But his flesh upon him hath pain, And his soul within him mourneth.


For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, When the number of his months is cut off in the midst?


They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone; Yea, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all other, And are cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.


Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.


She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable: Her lamp goeth not out by night.


For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.


For thou art our father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O LORD, art our father; our redeemer from everlasting is thy name.


And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast brought forth a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
