He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute, And hath not despised their prayer.


To hear the sighing of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death;


For he shall stand at the right hand of the needy, To save him from them that judge his soul.


For the spoiling of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety at whom they puff.


Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.


Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:


For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: Thou art my trust from my youth.


He shall judge the poor of the people, He shall save the children of the needy, And shall break in pieces the oppressor.


For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them: He forgetteth not the cry of the poor.


For surely there is a reward; And thy hope shall not be cut off.


So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul If thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward, And thy hope shall not be cut off.


The hungry he hath filled with good things; And the rich he hath sent empty away.


And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed are ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.


Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
