When he made a decree for the rain, And a way for the lightning of the thunder:


For he draweth up the drops of water, Which distil in rain from his vapour:


Whether it be for correction, or for his land, Or for mercy, that he cause it to come


Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or a way for the lightning of the thunder;


Who giveth rain upon the earth, And sendeth waters upon the fields:


He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.


He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.


They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: And the hills are girded with joy.
