When he made a decree for the rain, And a way for the lightning of the thunder:
For he draweth up the drops of water, Which distil in rain from his vapour:
Whether it be for correction, or for his land, Or for mercy, that he cause it to come
Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or a way for the lightning of the thunder;
He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.
He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: And the hills are girded with joy.
when he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
Are there any among the vanities of the heathen that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee; for thou hast made all these things.
