Ladan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son;


And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister: and Moses went up into the mount of God.


And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.


And Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.


These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.


Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.


And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that spied out the land, rent their clothes:


And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;


Which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered on the possession of the nations, which God thrust out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;


And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.


For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
