Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.


Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave,


Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring through our father.”


Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.


But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house;


And what he did was displeasing in the sight of the Lord, and he slew him also.


But Er, Judah's first-born, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him.


Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with violence.


And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.


For no human being will be justified in his sight by works of the law, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.


For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.


The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.


We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.


Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
