If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is couching at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.”


Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already approved what you do.


It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch.


If any one serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honor him.


but in every nation any one who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.


Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord.


Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Master is able to make him stand.


For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by fair and flattering words they deceive the hearts of the simple-minded.


But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life.


For he who was called in the Lord as a slave is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a slave of Christ.


We have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.


Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.


So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.


but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,


for we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of men.


I have received full payment, and more; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.


Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.


knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you are serving the Lord Christ.


This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,


If a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn their religious duty to their own family and make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.


Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in case they speak against you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.


For what credit is it, if when you do wrong and are beaten for it you take it patiently? But if when you do right and suffer for it you take it patiently, you have God's approval.


and like living stones be yourselves built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.


and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
