Jehu said to Bidkar his aide, “Take him up, and cast him on the plot of ground belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember, when you and I rode side by side behind Ahab his father, how the Lord uttered this oracle against him:


And the king said, “Hang him on that.” So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the anger of the king abated.


But man dies, and is laid low; man breathes his last, and where is he?


that the exulting of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?


They are exalted a little while, and then are gone; they wither and fade like the mallow; they are cut off like the heads of grain.


he returns no more to his house, nor does his place know him any more.


Why dost thou not pardon my transgression and take away my iniquity? For now I shall lie in the earth; thou wilt seek me, but I shall not be.”


for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.


Yea, he shall see that even the wise die, the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.


But God will break you down for ever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah


The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.


The end of all things is at hand; therefore keep sane and sober for your prayers.
