the Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”


For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?


And as he sat at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.


As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.


And as he sat at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were sitting with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him.


Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him.


There they made him a supper; Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at table with him.


If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience.
