And he burned the house of the Lord, and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.


Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, “Yes, what they are building—if a fox goes up on it he will break down their stone wall!”


they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals.


Be not exceedingly angry, O Lord, and remember not iniquity for ever. Behold, consider, we are all thy people.

And he burned the house of the Lord, and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.


“Take up weeping and wailing for the mountains, and a lamentation for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard; both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled and are gone.


I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”


Your prophets have been like foxes among ruins, O Israel.


Now therefore, O our God, hearken to the prayer of thy servant and to his supplications, and for thy own sake, O Lord, cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary, which is desolate.


Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height.
