When I say, ‘My bed will comfort me, my couch will ease my complaint,’

When I say, My bed shall comfort me, My couch shall ease my complaint;

When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint,

When I say, My bed shall comfort me, My couch shall ease my complaint;

If I say, “My couch will comfort me,” my bed will diminish my murmuring.

If I say, "My bed will comfort me, and I will find rest, speaking with myself on my blanket,"

If I say: My bed shall comfort me, and I shall be relieved speaking with myself on my couch:

I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest; but trouble comes.”

then thou dost scare me with dreams and terrify me with visions,

I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping.

Thou dost hold my eyelids from closing; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
