Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.


And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.


But you are doing away with the fear of God, and hindering meditation before God.


I could strengthen you with my mouth, and the solace of my lips would assuage your pain.


Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends, for the hand of God has touched me!


A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.


Trust in a faithless man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.


“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother,

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you also are in the body.
