He reached from on high, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.


The cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me;


Deep calls to deep at the thunder of thy cataracts; all thy waves and thy billows have gone over me.


who dost still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;


The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice, the floods lift up their roaring.


The oracle concerning the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the Negeb sweep on, it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.


For the Lord is laying Babylon waste, and stilling her mighty voice. Their waves roar like many waters, the noise of their voice is raised;


therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.


“His sons shall wage war and assemble a multitude of great forces, which shall come on and overflow and pass through, and again shall carry the war as far as his fortress.
