After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”


I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold to you when I am away! —


So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.


Working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain.


See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.


how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly.


And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons?— “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him.


I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.


Therefore we must pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.


Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.


Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains, let us fear lest any of you be judged to have failed to reach it.


Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience.


By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God; stand fast in it.
