Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land, and take the fifth part of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plenteous years.


So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you are;


Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you; break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your tranquillity.”


Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty.


Choose wise, understanding, and experienced men, according to your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads.’
