For I assign to you a number of days, three hundred and ninety days, equal to the number of the years of their punishment; so long shall you bear the punishment of the house of Israel.


And behold, I will put cords upon you, so that you cannot turn from one side to the other, till you have completed the days of your siege.


“Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is a thing most holy and has been given to you that you may bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?


The goat shall bear all their iniquities upon him to a solitary land; and he shall let the goat go in the wilderness.


According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, for every day a year, you shall bear your iniquity, forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’


So the Lord said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your fathers' house with you shall bear iniquity in connection with the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity in connection with your priesthood.


This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.”


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
