“So I sent messengers from the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon the king of Heshbon, with words of peace, saying,


You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat, and give me water for money, that I may drink; only let me pass through on foot,


You shall purchase food from them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink.


Israel then sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, ‘Let us pass, we pray, through your land to our country.’
