And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and he shut up the doors of the house of the Lord; and he made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.


In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.


“Now this is what you shall offer upon the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually.


And Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; every morning when he dresses the lamps he shall burn it,


Oh, that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire upon my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand.
