Peace, peace, to the far and to the near, says the Lord; and I will heal him.


Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’


And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near;


“When you draw near to a city to fight against it, offer terms of peace to it.


Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain, and Rimmon: in all, twenty-nine cities, with their villages.


And they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon; five thousand men of them were cut down in the highways, and they were pursued hard to Gidom, and two thousand men of them were slain.


But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and abode at the rock of Rimmon four months.


And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who had not known man by lying with him; and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.


And Benjamin returned at that time; and they gave them the women whom they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh-gilead; but they did not suffice for them.
