If we God's name forgot, or stretch'd to a strange god our hands,
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
If we had forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god,
If we have forgotten the name of our God, Or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to some strange deity,
All this is come on us, yet we have not forgotten thee; Nor falsely in thy covenant behav'd ourselves have we.
Yet shall the king in God rejoice, and each one glory shall That swear by him: but stopp'd shall be the mouth of liars all.
Those that be princes great shall then come out of Egypt lands; And Ethiopia to God shall soon stretch out her hands.
His works and wonders they forgot, which he to them did show.
In midst of thee there shall not be any strange god at all; Nor unto any god unknown thou bowing down shalt fall.
