By what means shall a young man learn his way to purify? If he according to thy word thereto attentive be.


We'll with our tongue prevail, our lips are ours: who's lord o'er us?


Set, Lord, a watch before my mouth, keep of my lips the door.


Thy lips refrain from speaking guile, and from ill words thy tongue.


My soul with expectation depends on God indeed; My strength and my salvation doth from him alone proceed.


Unto the Lord I with my voice, I unto God did cry; Ev'n with my voice, and unto me his ear he did apply.
