As cursing he like clothes put on, into his bowels so, Like water, and into his bones, like oil, down let it go.

As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, So let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, and it seeped into his inward [life] like water, and like oil into his bones.

Since he wore curses like a coat, let them seep inside him like water, seep into his bones like oil!

Like to the garment let it be which doth himself array, And for a girdle, wherewith he is girt about alway.

Therefore their pride, like to a chain, them compasseth about; And, as a garment, violence doth cover them throughout.
