Then they believ'd his word, and praise to him in songs did give.
Then believed they his words; They sang his praise.
Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.
So our ancestors trusted God’s words; they sang God’s praise.
And their heart was brought low with hardships. They were weakened, and there was no one to help them.
And their heart was humbled with labours: they were weakened, and their was none to help them.
