so that you may welcome her in the Lord as is fitting for the saints, and help her in whatever she may require from you, for she has been a benefactor of many and of myself as well.


But fornication and impurity of any kind, or greed, must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints.


Women likewise must be serious, not slanderers, but temperate, faithful in all things.


Deacons likewise must be serious, not double-tongued, not indulging in much wine, not greedy for money;


No longer drink only water, but take a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.


For a bishop, as God's steward, must be blameless; he must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or addicted to wine or violent or greedy for gain;


so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,


For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic elements of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food;


But I have this against you: you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet and is teaching and beguiling my servants to practice fornication and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
