I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.


I remember your name in the night, O Lord, and keep your law.


Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their couches.


By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.


I slept, but my heart was awake. Listen! my beloved is knocking. “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is wet with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.”


I will give the priests their fill of fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my bounty, says the Lord.


Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.
