When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in the heart; this is what was sown on the path.


the field is the world, and the good seed are the children of the kingdom; the weeds are the children of the evil one,


For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander.


And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.


And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.


I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.


You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.


So then, putting away falsehood, let all of us speak the truth to our neighbors, for we are members of one another.


With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.

I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young people, because you have conquered the evil one.


We must not be like Cain who was from the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.


We know that those who are born of God do not sin, but the one who was born of God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them.
