Mark 4:21 - New Revised Standard Version

He said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under the bushel basket, or under the bed, and not on the lampstand?

And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

And He said to them, Is the lamp brought in to be put under a peck measure or under a bed, and not [to be put] on the lampstand?

And he said unto them, Is the lamp brought to be put under the bushel, or under the bed, and not to be put on the stand?

Jesus said to them, “Does anyone bring in a lamp in order to put it under a basket or a bed? Shouldn’t it be placed on a lampstand?

And he said to them: "Would someone enter with a lamp in order to place it under a basket or under a bed? Would it not be placed upon a lampstand?

And he said to them: Doth a candle come in to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar, but on the lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.

“No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
