He also made houses on high places, and appointed priests from among all the people, who were not Levites.


Then he said to Korah and all his company, “In the morning the Lord will make known who is his, and who is holy, and who will be allowed to approach him; the one whom he will choose he will allow to approach him.


The Lord said to Aaron: You and your sons and your ancestral house with you shall bear responsibility for offenses connected with the sanctuary, while you and your sons alone shall bear responsibility for offenses connected with the priesthood.


The Levite agreed to stay with the man; and the young man became to him like one of his sons.


Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, because the Levite has become my priest.”


Then the Danites set up the idol for themselves. Jonathan son of Gershom, son of Moses, and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the time the land went into captivity.


He said to them, “Micah did such and such for me, and he hired me, and I have become his priest.”
