I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.


“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.


for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.


Jesus answered, “I have spoken openly to the world; I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all the Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret.


“Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen; yet you do not receive our testimony.


Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.


Then Jesus cried out as he was teaching in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I am from. I have not come on my own. But the one who sent me is true, and you do not know him.


They said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Why do I speak to you at all?


They did not understand that he was speaking to them about the Father.


but now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.


As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been “Yes and No.”
