But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.


But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and get his inheritance.’


And when the chief priests and the scribes heard it, they kept looking for a way to kill him; for they were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was spellbound by his teaching.


Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the sabbath, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.


The Pharisees went out and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.


The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.


Then they tried to arrest him again, but he escaped from their hands.


So from that day on they planned to put him to death.


Therefore the Jews started persecuting Jesus, because he was doing such things on the sabbath.


For this reason the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because he was not only breaking the sabbath, but was also calling God his own Father, thereby making himself equal to God.


Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.


After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He did not wish to go about in Judea because the Jews were looking for an opportunity to kill him.


Now some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is not this the man whom they are trying to kill?


He is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors; and he received living oracles to give to us.


Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring would come to whom the promise had been made; and it was ordained through angels by a mediator.


Even the circumcised do not themselves obey the law, but they want you to be circumcised so that they may boast about your flesh.


You must not be partial in judging: hear out the small and the great alike; you shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God's. Any case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.”


Moses charged us with the law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
