“The ostrich's wings flap wildly, though its pinions lack plumage.


forgetting that a foot may crush them, and that a wild animal may trample them.


Like a bird that strays from its nest is one who strays from home.


Then it can be used as fuel. Part of it he takes and warms himself; he kindles a fire and bakes bread. Then he makes a god and worships it, makes it a carved image and bows down before it.


Even the jackals offer the breast and nurse their young, but my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
