Why should fools have a price in hand to buy wisdom, when they have no mind to learn?
When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without understanding; therefore he that made them will not have compassion on them, he that formed them will show them no favor.
Bring forth the people who are blind, yet have eyes, who are deaf, yet have ears!
They do not know, nor do they comprehend; for their eyes are shut, so that they cannot see, and their minds as well, so that they cannot understand.
They are both stupid and foolish; the instruction given by idols is no better than wood!
“For my people are foolish, they do not know me; they are stupid children, they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil, but do not know how to do good.”
Then I said, “These are only the poor, they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord, the law of their God.
To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? See, their ears are closed, they cannot listen. The word of the Lord is to them an object of scorn; they take no pleasure in it.

Even the stork in the heavens knows its times; and the turtledove, swallow, and crane observe the time of their coming; but my people do not know the ordinance of the Lord.
Mortal, you are living in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, who have ears to hear but do not hear;
Ephraim has become like a dove, silly and without sense; they call upon Egypt, they go to Assyria.
But they refused to listen, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears in order not to hear.

Do you have eyes, and fail to see? Do you have ears, and fail to hear? And do you not remember?
