The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one other by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he never prophesies anything favorable about me, but only disaster.” Jehoshaphat said, “Let the king not say such a thing.”
Those who despise the word bring destruction on themselves, but those who respect the commandment will be rewarded.
The human mind may devise many plans, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.
One who is often reproved, yet remains stubborn, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
and you say, “Oh, how I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof!
Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and Judah and all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today.
Now, after the king had burned the scroll with the words that Baruch wrote at Jeremiah's dictation, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
Take another scroll and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which King Jehoiakim of Judah has burned.
if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
