my mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.


I can count all my bones. They stare and gloat over me;


I have been like a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.


I gave my back to those who struck me, and my cheeks to those who pulled out the beard; I did not hide my face from insult and spitting.


Then they spat in his face and struck him; and some slapped him,


But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.


Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching,


They were greatly astounded and said to one another, “Then who can be saved?”


They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them; they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what was to happen to him,


And immediately the girl got up and began to walk about (she was twelve years of age). At this they were overcome with amazement.


Then he got into the boat with them and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded,


They were astounded beyond measure, saying, “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”


And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.


they also blindfolded him and kept asking him, “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?”


They were all amazed and kept saying to one another, “What kind of utterance is this? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and out they come!”


Amazement seized all of them, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”
