Then God said, “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so.


So he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, “Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed.


Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.


They will receive blessing from the Lord, and vindication from the God of their salvation.


For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring.


I will make them and the region around my hill a blessing; and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.

It is the farmer who does the work who ought to have the first share of the crops.


Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.
