Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.


So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah. He served Laban for another seven years.


Now Jacob looked up and saw Esau coming, and four hundred men with him. So he divided the children among Leah and Rachel and the two maids.


He himself went on ahead of them, bowing himself to the ground seven times, until he came near his brother.


Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he had made him a long robe with sleeves.


your mother shall be utterly shamed, and she who bore you shall be disgraced. Lo, she shall be the last of the nations, a wilderness, dry land, and a desert.
