So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.


The king answered, “I know with certainty that you are trying to gain time, because you see I have firmly decreed:


“See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.


And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside, everything comes in parables;


For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I want you to be wise in what is good and guileless in what is evil.


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.
