But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.


We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.


I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?


For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. This is what we pray for, that you may become perfect.


For while we live, we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be made visible in our mortal flesh.


But just as we have the same spirit of faith that is in accordance with scripture—“I believed, and so I spoke”—we also believe, and so we speak,


But even if I am being poured out as a libation over the sacrifice and the offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you—


because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for those services that you could not give me.


We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
