He cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”
Let us make a small roof chamber with walls, and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that he can stay there whenever he comes to us.”
She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, closed the door on him, and left.
When Elisha came into the house, he saw the child lying dead on his bed.
At that time she became ill and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in a room upstairs.
