After the man of God had eaten food and had drunk, they saddled for him a donkey belonging to the prophet who had brought him back.


Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, as soon as you have left me, a lion will kill you.” And when he had left him, a lion met him and killed him.


When he turned around and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two she-bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.


The lazy person says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be killed in the streets!”


The lazy person says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!”


as if someone fled from a lion, and was met by a bear; or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall, and was bitten by a snake.


The donkey saw me, and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away from me, surely just now I would have killed you and let it live.”
