He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.


House and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.


You ask, “Why does he not?” Because the Lord was a witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.


But I say to you that anyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.


Shun fornication! Every sin that a person commits is outside the body; but the fornicator sins against the body itself.


Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is well for a man not to touch a woman.”


The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.


But if they are not practicing self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame with passion.


In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.


Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.
