These were descended from the giants in Gath; they fell by the hand of David and his servants.


Joab son of Zeruiah began to count them, but did not finish; yet wrath came upon Israel for this, and the number was not entered into the account of the Annals of King David.


All of these were men of Asher, heads of ancestral houses, select mighty warriors, chief of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies, for service in war, was twenty-six thousand men.


One day the heavenly beings came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord.


When you take a census of the Israelites to register them, at registration all of them shall give a ransom for their lives to the Lord, so that no plague may come upon them for being registered.


Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
