Surely now God has worn me out; he has made desolate all my company.


For he will complete what he appoints for me; and many such things are in his mind.


“Oh, that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me;


Like a slave who longs for the shadow, and like laborers who look for their wages,


You have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in your sight. Surely everyone stands as a mere breath. Selah


I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping.


My eyes waste away because of grief; they grow weak because of all my foes.


I saw all the deeds that are done under the sun; and see, all is vanity and a chasing after wind.
